Butterflies symbolize the passage of time because of their transformational life cycle. Their beauty and grace remind us to appreciate the present moment and to cherish the time we have. 

The life cycle of a floral bouquet goes through different stages as well, from the moment it is harvested until it eventually fades away. 

Combining pictures of a birthday bouquet that was gifted to me with images of butterflies felt like an organic pairing. I utilized the dispersion technique to amplify the representation of impermanence.
