Ode to Robert Indiana: Love 2019 Versions 2 +3
Robert Indiana was an American artist associated with the pop art movement. His "LOVE" print, first created for the Museum of Modern Art's Christmas card in 1965, was the basis for his 1970 Love sculpture and the widely distributed 1973 United States Postal Service "LOVE" stamp. His recent passing inspired me to create a work honoring his legacy. Version 2 accepted into the Juried Show by Studio Montclair, "Love + Fear", Montclair, NJ and "Rumble 'n Sway" at the Loft Artists Gallery, Stamford, CT., 2019.
Version 3 included in the 2020 Solo show, "Say the Word," at the Westport Library, Westport CT and the Live Girl show, "She is Rising" at the Carriage Barn Arts Center, New Canaan CT 2021.
