The Billboard Project Phase 2
The Billboard Project uses digital composites to drop unexpected messages into quiet, empty landscapes. Rather than ads, these signs feel like notes left behind by a previous traveler for whoever happens to be passing through. By reimagining real landscapes, from the arid expanse of the American Southwest to the rhythmic shores of tropical coastlines, this collection explores the intersection of solitude and communication.
Each piece begins with original landscape photography. I look for environments that evoke a sense of "the middle of nowhere"—places where the air feels still. Through digital manipulation, I introduce aged, rusted, or salt-worn billboards that appear to have survived decades of exposure.
I want the viewer to feel like they’ve stumbled upon a secret intended just for them.
Format & Framing: All works are produced in a cinematic 16:9 wide-angle ratio. While multiple sizes are available, I personally envision these pieces showcased with a white matte and a minimalist white frame to preserve the bright, open feel of the original landscapes.
Although the ratio remains a constant 16:9, the scale is up to you. Whether you want a small "desktop" reminder or a large-scale statement piece for a living room, the cinematic proportions remain intact to preserve the original vision. Our sizing are just suggestions.
